Introduction

The John Dyer Gallery operates online & by appointment and in collaboration with major organizations to promote the work of artists John Dyer & Joanne Short. Established in 2005 the gallery has formed working relationships with the Eden Project, The National Trust, St Michael's Mount, Falmouth Art Gallery and many environmental organizations around the world including Banrock Station part of the Hardy wines group.

We offer our customers a special opportunity to spend time with us viewing paintings, ceramics and prints in a friendly & comfortable environment without interruptions. We also specialise in holding exhibitions in temporary spaces with cutting edge paintings; a gallery without boundaries.

"The gallery bridges the gap between collector and artist and is one of Cornwall's most exclusive galleries. Our last exhibition held in conjunction with the acclaimed Island of St Michael's Mount was a great success."

The Gallery is open strictly by appointment only and also for special invitation only private views. Please join our mailing list so we can keep you informed.

John Dyer originally founded the Beside The Wave Gallery with his father Ted Dyer and family. Beside The Wave gallery has now been sold and continues to operate but the John Dyer Gallery now represents the artists' work and is a natural progression from the previous gallery.

We hope that all our collectors from the past 18 years will enjoy our new series of exhibitions and events in collaboration with some of Cornwall's and Europe's most prestigious working partners such as The National Trust, The Eden Project, and the Hanbury Gardens in Italy.

"To find one inspirational painter in a family is good fortune; to find two is unique. John Dyer and Jo Short are the only husband and wife team I can think of whose paintings I love in equal measure. Not in that 'quite nice' sort of way, but in a way that makes me want to buy them and hang them in my rooms. They have that rare quality of being able to transport me to those magical Cornish places of holiday dreams, magical light and brilliant flowers. They are optimistic without being misty-optic. To enjoy John and Jo's paintings you need imagination and spirit. That is all. The skills of these two remarkable painters will do the rest."

About John Dyer

John Dyer is one of Cornwall's best-known and most successful artists. He has a large global following and is the 'Painter in Residence' for the Eden Project. His work is firmly at the forefront of contemporary art with original paintings in the permanent collections of The Falmouth Art Gallery, The National Trust at Glendurgan Garden, The Tresco Estate and The Eden Project.

About Joanne Short

Joanne Short is one of Cornwall's most established artists & her paintings are truly unique in their style and construction. They bring to us a strong but gentle view of her world and focus on the beauty, pattern and life that is found in the landscape. She featured in the ITV series 'The Painted Garden' in 2005 and many collectors marveled at the way she confidently commits paint to her canvas 'en plein-air'.
