Artists Joanne Short and John Dyer are celebrated British colourist painters of Cornwall's historic naive school of art. John Dyer and Joanne Short's paintings sit alongside, and have been exhibited during the past 18 years with the work of artists such as, Ben Nicholson, Bryan Pearce, Joan Gillchrest, John Miller and Fred Yates. The artists are widely collected and have been featured in many publications and television programmes. Their paintings have been commissioned and purchased by many important private and public buyers including the Heritage Lottery Fund, the National Trust, the Eden Project, Kim Wilde, Robert Dorrien-Smith and Alan Titchmarsh MBE.

Joanne Short is one of Cornwall's most established artists & her paintings are truly unique in their style and construction. Her paintings focus on the beauty, pattern and life that is found in the landscape. Joanne featured in the ITV series "The Painted Garden" and many collectors marveled at the way she confidently commits paint to her canvas en plein-air.		John Dyer is one of Britain's leading painters. His colourful work explores his passion for life. He has completed many environmental projects across the world working with the Eden Project as their painter in residence. John's paintings explore places that fascinate him and which he paints with his rich understanding of colour, a sense of place and the environment.

The work of these two important artists is held in many private and public collections throughout the UK and beyond. The paintings celebrate the artists' life in their surroundings and many people feel a strong connection to the work and relate to the optimistic nature and energy of the paintings. All of the paintings that are available on our gallery web site can be viewed by appointment in Falmouth, Cornwall or purchased over the telephone. All of the paintings are framed and can be sent via courier. The quoted size is the painting size, the final framed sizes are slightly larger.
