JOHN FRANKLAND is a retired Drama teacher and multi-award winning director and performer for many theatre groups in Cornwall.

Recent ventures include the development of Kernow Youth Theatre and productions of Six Characters in Search of an Author and Vampire Story (staged in supermarket car parks across Cornwall).

John  collaborated with the Hall for Cornwall as a professional practitioner providing workshop support for their Mini-Malism project to develop a new piece of absurd theatre. He has worked with Feast and Falmouth Town Council to take new writing and  perform them inside high street shops (Shop For Theatre).

Since touring ‘Frankland & Sons’ with his son Tom he has continued to develop ‘Shop for Theatre’ which was part of the 2012 Fal-River Festival. He has also continued to work with schools and facilitates the opening ceremony and schools parade for Falmouth’s Oyster Festival.

He is currently working as a producer with Visit Cornwall and the Tall Ships Association to provide the community involvement with the August 2014 visit to Falmouth and Greenwich of the Tall Ships Regatta.
