‘Palm Trees’ by Ciara Age 9

Palm trees sway,
as boats hit the dock,
In the early days of may,
In all the times around the clock.

boats are turning,
while fisherman’s cats,
are watching the burning.

fireworks are booming,
whilst at the sea boats are zooming
I wish you were there just you and me

‘John Dyer’s painting by Madeline Age 9

Palm trees sway,
As boats sail by,
The sunny bay,
Cowers away; he is shy.

Even though the ships are tall,
they can’t see as much as you and me,
We can see a jewel,
but they can’t see a bee.

Fireworks displays,
go on every night,
there’s a cave
you could be in one you just might!

It is very calm,
we’re going to sleep,
there is not an alarm.
We are all in the deep….

My Poem by Lucy D aged 7

Palm trees, green leaves
Brightly coloured ships creeping
Ginger cat with green eyes
Flags flapping wildly

My Poem by Maisy aged 7

Fireworks sparkling in a sapphire
sky

Palm trees blowing on a rough
day

Flowers dancing in lime green
grass

Seagulls with yellow and black
sharp claws.

‘My Poem’ by Mads Aged 7

Big houses, small houses,
Giant palm trees,
Tall ships, small ships,
Seagulls squawking,
Girls, boys waving their hands,
Colourful, banging fireworks.

‘By the Sea’ by India Castle, Age 9 Years

By The Sea
Fireworks, booming beautiful and bright,
“WOW!” cheers the crowd what a lovely sight

Here come the tall ships, elegant and tall,
Oh there it is the greatest of them all.

Mermaids tails, shimmering like the moon on water,
The mysterious voice of Neptune’s daughter,

Mmm… smells like fish and chips,
I think I have to buy some I can’t stop licking my lips,

Palm trees spiky and towering,
Big strong and over powering,

“SPLASH” three girls dive into the deep ocean,
They did put on all there sun lotion,

Yellows, blues and reds filled the sky as people waved good bye.

‘The Tall Ships Festival’ by May Keeble, Age 9 Years

THE TALL SHIPS FESTIVAL

The fireworks sizzle and crackle,
They swirl and curl,
High in the sky they amazingly astonish the gasping crowd below.

Some ships sail along the briny sea,
Whilst the buildings are on the dry,
Palm trees are waving above your heads shouting in praise.

The church bells chime and dong,
The fireworks go high above your heads exploding,
The moon glistens and shines bright against the darkness of the night.

The church bells chime and dong,
They go through time with you.

And it all makes you feel …HAPPY!!!
