Thank you to all the children who joined us on this amazing project and to the adults who encouraged them and sent their work to us. The work has all been looked at individually by a panel of judges including artist John Dyer, Explorer and president of Survival International Robin Hanbury-Tenison OBE and representatives from The Eden Project and Falmouth Art Gallery. We are thrilled to be hosting such a wonderful exhibition of young artists work.
Who has won and what have they won ?
The 24 pictures in the 'Winners' section
These are our main winners. These children will be personally invited by the Eden Project to attend the exhibition event on October 17th with their families and teachers to meet artist John Dyer and Amazon Indian Nixiwaka Yawanawá. They will all be presented with a signed limited edition print by John Dyer worth £115. Their work will be printed out and framed up as part of the exhibition that will be on public display until January 7th 2016. Their work will also go on display in the public Falmouth Art Gallery from Tuesday 17th November – Sat 23rd January 2016.
The 300 pictures in the 'Top 300' section
These pictures include our top 24 and all 300 will be printed out and displayed amongst the plants in the rainforest biome at the Eden Project on October 17th and October 18th. We can't display for longer in the rainforest biome as it is too hot and wet. Any child in the top 300 should feel very proud as we have selected these pieces out of 1040 entries and they are part of a unique exhibition. There are no individual prizes for these.
The 4 pictures in the 'Zazzle ArtMug Winners' section
These pieces have been hand picked by Zazzle out of the 24 winners to receive an additional prize from Zazzle.co.uk Their artwork will be printed onto a special Art Mug for them and we hope to present the winners with their mugs at the exhibition event.
The 3 pictures in the 'Jackson's Art Set Winners' section
These pieces have been hand picked by Jackson's out of the 24 winners to receive an additional prize from Jackson's Art Supplies. The prize is an acrylic painting set and small easel that has been provided by Jackson's. We hope to be able to present these to the childen at the event.
The age category sections
All of the work that we received is exhibited online. We have not rejected any work but celebrated each and every child who took part in this extraordinary project. There are no specific prizes but we will keep the work online for many years and hope that every child will be proud to see their work presented on The John Dyer Gallery and on The Eden Project web sites.
