‘The Sea Story’ by Leon, Age 8 Years

One day there was a person called Ross. He was going for his daily walk and he found a hurt rat. He took it home and took care of it. He named the rat Scally. Scally was very dirty so Ross cleaned Scally. When Scally got out she yawned so Ross made a bed for Scally. Then Ross thought that he was tired too.

In the morning when Ross and Scally woke they both yawned at the same time.
They both laughed, well Ross did but Scally squeaked (that meant she was laughing in rat). They both went for a walk down the street and when Ross looked behind him there were loads of rats! Ross did not know which one was Scally.

Ross was so sad that he started to cry. “WA! WA! WA! WA!” said Ross, then he remembered that Scally was the clean one. Soon he found her. Ross was so happy that he ran straight to a pet shop to buy a collar for Scally. He got her name engraved on it and gave it to her. Then Ross told Scally that it was the tall ships and Sally was so excited that she ran ahead and found somewhere to sit and Scally and Ross watched the tall ships.
