‘Tall Ships and the Cheeky Gulls’ by Ella, Jay, Reuben, Matthew T, Veronica, Bertie from St Mawes School

TALL SHIPS AND THE CHEEKY GULLS
Sally Seagull plays all day
Flying everywhere around the sploshy bay
When Sally pinches chips
She likes to lick her salty lips
She was excited to see the Tall ships.

Stewart Seagull likes to cheat
He has a smiley friend called Pete
He likes to eat chocolate treats
In the sizzling heat
Stewart seagull likes to sleep
On golden hay
He had an exciting birthday
In May!

Sapphire Seagull relaxes all day
As she loves to play
She flies high in the sky
Then she comes back to eat a pie.
It is a chilli delight
Hot and warm giving her height.

Sandie Seagull watched all day
The fishermen busy in the bay
Sandy Seagull snatched a fish
Mmmm, what a tasty dish.

Sammy seagull relaxes all day
When he pinches food he doesn’t pay!
The best thing is to fly above the beautiful bay.
He eats his chips while watching the brilliant tall ships.

Maggie May
Likes to play
A game called Tall Ships everyday
But she wished she could see
The elegant tall ships in the salty sea.
She watches the gulls fly
I wish I could spy
THE SHIPS!

‘Tall Ships’ by Emily, Age 10 Years

Tall Ships

One cold, windy night in Falmouth Harbour, in a small abandoned boat there was a lonely girl called Cleo. She had never seen a celebration before. Suddenly, Cleo heard a bang. She hopped up in joy, she knew that this was her chance to actually find a family. She was so happy.
The first family she went to was a young family but they took no notice of the small girl. The next place she went to was a lady on a pasty stall but she said for her to go away you can’t eat my pasty.
The poor girl could not find anybody but then she saw a boy fall in the water. She wanted to help so she jumped in too, but suddenly a tall ship appeared …It was a fisherman. He saw the girl and said you’re coming home with me. Cleo recognised the man but suddenly…
A lady came out of the crowd who Cleo recognised. The lady said “CLEO?” Cleo cried “Mum, Dad!”

‘Accordion’ by Noah, Age 10 Years

He sat there waiting for the door bell to ring. “Ding dong, ding dong,” the door bell went.
“Finally!” Jim shouted.
He had sat their for hours, days even. Running to the door he opened it.
“My accordion!” Jim shouted before realising a fisherman was standing in front of him.
“Here you go,” the fisherman said whilst plonking a box of fish in front of him.
“Oh…..thanks.”
The fisherman walked away. Behind him stood the postman, “For….hmm…Jim Sanga?”
“Thats me!” said Jim Sanga.
Handing over a small box, opening it carefully he took out the accordion. He had watched lots of people play and studied it a lot. All he had to do was learn to play. After hours of practising and failing he finally got a song.
“I have the song,” he shouted.
The night of the festival came. He sung his heart out and hoped he would bring cheers to the town. He did.
