‘The Gold beaked Seagulls’ by Corey Beard, Age 8 Years

Gold beaked seagulls

The tall ships tantalizing tickling,
The deep dark sea!

The gold beaked seagulls,
elegantly flying,
over the light blue sea.

Mermaids tails the size of a whale,
Families rushing out,
To get a brain-buzzing eye-popping view.

The gold beaked seagulls,
elegantly flying,
Over the light blue sea.

I dive into the salty blue sea like a shark,
Searching for,
his tea.

‘The beautiful, sunny beach’ by Eilwen Deacon, Age 9 Years

The beautiful, sunny beach

The loud, crazy seagulls flew

Over the salty, blue still sea.

Ice cream is like freezing cold ice on a winter’s night.

Fish and chips are like a hot, burning cooker in your mouth.

Ice cream is like freezing, cold ice on a winter’s night.

When the seagulls communicate it’s like they are celebrating in the sky.

‘Tall Ships’ by Jamie Lorenzo, Age 8 Years

Tall Ships

The ships are sailing as fast as the wind over the salty blue sea.

I dive in the glimmering salty sea like a dolphin searching for his tea!

The seagulls are singing with hunger in the sandy salty sea.

I dive in the glimmering salty sea like a dolphin searching for his tea!

The water is frozen like the North Pole in the icy cold winter.

‘I smell vinegar’ by Harry Hoggett, Age 8 Years

I Smell vinegar

At Falmouth, people are rushing out of their
Houses to take a wonderful glints of the tall ships. The smell of fish are leading the
Way. The tall ships are gargantuan!!
The warm breeze, from the fish and chip shop. The seagulls are singing like a symphony.
The smell of vinegar is trailing round the town.
The sailors are cheering on the masts of the tall ships.

‘Jim’ by Theo, Age 11Years

Jim sighted a cat alone, abandoned by its master – no-one looking for it, no-one tending it. Jim, pasty in hand, walked cautiously towards the frightened creature, broke off a meaty chunk, held it out and waited. The cat crept forward, its pads pressing on the ground lightly, sparingly knocked the meat from his hand and chewed on it curiously, tugging at the juicy delight.
After that he took the cat home and as they walked the fireworks started reflecting off the giant sails down in the harbour. Sailors climbed the tall strong masts of their proud ships. The water, dazzling on the seals and dolphins, gleamed in the stars. Cries of “Anchor down” and all the bangs, whizzes and fizzes greeted him on the way to the door.
Then the music of the sea commenced, swishes and crashes of the waves on the pebbles, climbing their way on to the rocks. The squarks of seagulls crying at passers-by. A dog’s harsh bark sends the seagulls flying towards the moon……
