John Dyer Exhibition I Official Limited Edition Print I Art & Storytelling Competition

‘A Firework’s Flight’ by Maxwell Endean, Age 10 Years

For this afternoon I am stuck in a big, dark and gloomy box. I smell the disgusting fish guts outside of the box. Later on the van door opens and I get chucked inside with the other fireworks.
Then we take a journey to Falmouth and I say to the driver…
“Hey what are we doing in Falmouth?”
There was no response. About a minute after there was still no response the van door opened and they took me out of the box and wheeled me to the quay. Then they put me on a stand with about 100 more fireworks and they attached a piece of rope on fire.
“Woah what are you doing?” I said but it was too late…
Suddenly, as soon as I knew it I was running through the air like a cheetah. I could see the tall ships sails’ flapping in the wind from side to side. Then I saw a few seals swimming around in the crystal blue sea.
I came down as a dusty thing and could hardly see anything, then a few seconds later I was dead.
