In a dark blue, tight box I lay until someone lifts me out and stands me up. I look up at the dark silent sky. Suddenly I am put on the top of the Falmouth clock. Without warning I am squeezed to the spire on the top of the clock and a few seconds later I am left alone…
I feel frosty as I look and listen to people and children gathering towards me. Children are laughing and waiting for the show to start. More and more and more people come towards me. After five minutes, I hear the sizzling of a fuse and I am lit…
“That’s odd, my base is rather warm. It feels good,” Then my base begins to get even hotter. I smell smoke and the black fuse gets charred and finally my fuse is roasting hot! I erupt into the dark blue sky. BOOOM!
“I’m FREE!!” Where am I going? The audience cheer and scream. As I look down, I see the Tall Ships and Small Ships and the calm blue sea. I can smell the smoke as other fireworks boom before my eyes. I see blue, orange, red and green sparks fly next to me. I can hear the children laughing and clapping. I can hear lapping waves and splashing water. I can hear beeping from mobile phones and loud chatter as kids discuss my colours as I wiggle down towards ground. Suddenly I spark in the sky and split into a million pieces.
My one last ball of ‘dust’ smashes against the ground….
